The Ian Johnston Memorial Trophy was established by the Johnston family to commemorate the life of Ian Johnston.

Besides being our course owner/proprietor for many years, Ian at the same time was a very keen and good golfer (as you can tell when looking over the Club’s trophy lists).  He also wanted to serve the Club in the administration area, a twenty three year period as Secretary and then five years as President.  After that he continued to serve on the Men’s Committee and Board as the Course Representative.

Ian was awarded life membership in 1986.

Although not long in history, this trophy holds a special place to our members, especially those that knew Ian well.
